Moments I Had To Capture . . .

Once again, I'm not surprised some of my favorite photos end up being the impromptu shots I decide to take. During my session shooting this mommy's one-year-old baby boy, we needed to take a break and let the little guy sleep for a bit. While his mommy and I were chatting, I suggested it'd be fun if we spent a little time shooting her. Of course she's gorgeous, so it's no surprise I love these photos...

It's your time, baby ... Smash it!

Since the day this precious baby boy was born, I have looked forward to photographing him. He was absolutely beautiful from day one, and he has continued to capture the hearts of everyone who has had the pleasure of getting to know him. He has a personality that will light up the room, and as I imagined, his 1st Birthday shoot was beyond fun. Whether Jedd was playing with balloons, pushing his favorite book around or shaking the chocolate cake off of his little fingers, he made me laugh and was the perfect little model. It is truly hard to describe how adorable he is... so I'll let the photos speak for themselves.

The Joys and Tears of a One-Year-Old

It's moments like these where I wish my children were babies again. Celebrating their first year of life is a magical time as we parents watch them truly become their own little person. They find joy and tears in everything at the drop of a hat. During this first-birthday session, spending time with Sonja was extremely fun as we hung out together capturing her precious smile as she played with her parents. Of course, it was important to snag family photos here and there, but one of my personal goals was to have a "smash-the-cake" moment. As you'll see, she wanted nothing to do with her cake... in fact, the only time she cried was when she was sitting alone with it. It was a total crackup! Oh well, we get an "A" for effort, and in the world of photography and babies as we all know, they rule the show!!!

Aricia Hits A Homerun!

I'm totally stoked to show off this beautiful graduating senior, Aricia. When I found out she was an avid softball player and was riding her way to college on a scholarship to play ball, I was thrilled. I love featuring the talents of these young adults. It's in these moments we see their raw self, what makes them tick, and their passion is defined.

In addition to the playful side of Aricia, I absolutely loved capturing moments of this gorgeous young woman sporting a dress or rocking stylish jeans. Her smile was contagious, and when her brothers arrived to have their special photographs taken with their big sis, you could tell she was definitely beautiful inside and out.
